La Verte des Houches is, with the slope of Oreiller-Killy in Val d'Isère, one of the two downhill slope for World cup in France. It is considered by the best downhillers as one of the most beautiful of the circuit.
Before a World cup, the organizers give all their attention and realize the necessary works to be in accordance with the International Federation of Ski directives.
La Verte des Houches benefits from a total culture snow coverage.
The mythical passages of " The Break ", the " White Rock ", the "Bottleneck", "Schuss Battendier"... give rhythm to the descent of this slope.
If Annecy and the Haute-Savoie are chosen to welcome the Winter Olympic Games of 2018, "La Verte des Houches" would be the pist of men's downhill of these Games !
